Martha Parker

Wow! Most everyone was at the FG Wellness center last evening. We have become good friends. Everyone is so encouraging, Melvin even brought me a work out towel. I was on the treadmill and he was working out right next to the towels. We are taking care of each other and applauding our individual accomplishments. I put in 3.5 miles before I gave up the treadmill for the upper body machines. We are going to do a 5K run and I have got to step up my game for that race. My boys will be there and I want them to be proud of me not embarrased. So I am pushing my self to new levels each week. I put down 3 miles in 63 minutes, which is 21 minute miles. I have never been a runner so I am trying to improve my speed walking time and establish my self as a runner. I am so excited about the 5k run because I have always wanted to be a part of one. I hesitate to say I am an athlete, but I have certainly felt like one these past 3 weeks. This has been the best experience for me, I am seeing my schedule change to allow time for exercise and it's been the missing link to my busy life. You can work exercise in when you have to and once you do it fits your schedule. My family is willing to allow me the time and I love the so much for their support. Joshua Ryan washed a load of clothes and had supper waiting for me when I walked in the door, last night. That's a big deal for a 16 year old. He is doing his part to give me time to take care of myself for a change.
The ladies at FG Wellness are doing a great job and am so thankful for their support as we work to change our lives. WDAM has been fantastic, too.
